For the last two Mondays I have done pull-ups with weight added then a drop set to bodyweight. I really like this pull-up workout that I stumbled upon. I think Maverick's recent use of drop sets got me thinking about incorporating drop sets into my bodyweight only training.

For where you are at, just make sure that for the weighted set you don't go to failure, maybe 1-2 reps short. Then unstrap the weight, get right back up, and explode to the heavens on your pulls at bodyweight. Take alot of recovery before going to the next set/dropset. 3 sets/dropsets wipes me out.

I'll have to play around with these different ideas. Andy, I assume your method works for chin ups just as well as pull ups? The drop sets also might be just what I need for my chin ups to see some progress. Maybe I'll try pull ups instead again. Who knows...

Chin ups as well as pullups? I don't know, I imagine it would - the exercises are pretty similar. I've just never did chinups - they called them curl ups when I went to school and would not allow us to do them - just pullups with palms facing away. So, I've just always just been more comfortable doing them that way.

Here's the game plan. Last Monday the 8th was my last workout until Thursday the 18th. I am having my wisdom teeth out and I simply have no choice. I was going to do a final leg workout tomorrow, but I am taking it off in hopes that my hamstring will heal more by my return. Unfortunately on my time off I won't be able to eat much for a few days at least as a result of my oral surgery. I'll have to start lighter when I come back, but I plan to have a strong return to the weights!

Thanks pseudo. I don't take whey and I'm not allowed straws lol. I guess milk and cottage cheese are gonna be my protein sources for a few days!

And bench press has been one of his sticking points in his big lifts! How could you not go through his journal and want to know about his deadlifts!

Speedy recovery man. You should mark down all the calories you're not eating and have a crazy dy to get back into it when you're healed. Eat like a monster and do a crazy leg workout. You'll be back to out-SLDLing my deadlift in no time .

Best wishes for a quick recovery. Enjoy the rest. Don't do anything - just let that body heal. I really believe that when that hamstring is back to 100%, everything else will be so much better too.

seraph...I can only hope and pray to be that lucky! I sure hope I am!

syke...thanks bro I assume for bench you mean the 6x3 program? I don't think there is a person it has not worked for yet. Make sure you do it pinkies on rings (closer, not wide grip - if you can do it closer, you can press even more wider). Start with an extra light weight, and go up 10 lbs a week until you can only do 5 lbs a week. My previous max was 205. I could have started at 3x185, but I started at 6x3 @ 155 and worked my way up to 3x3 @ 200. Much better than a 205 max!

Mav...lol thanks bro, I can't wait to get back to my heavy leg workouts!!!

Andy...you betcha I'll enjoy the rest. I'm not gonna do a darn thing except recover and recover, and eventually eat lol.

Oh the Dave Draper one that Klinger had me do a long time ago. Yeah use the chart, that's an excellent workout. Brought my max from about 150-155 to about 185 in only 4-5 weeks!

In case the GF doesn't get there with your massage on time, I'm sending a masseuse right over.

Here she is.

Aren't you glad you are taking care of YOUR teeth?
