I'll check out your journal after I get back from the rec today. I take a multi-vitamin maybe 3-4x a week, whenever I remember. I also recently started taking whey or buying a protein drink, so maybe I have that 3x a week. I'm not very consistent with supps lol. Never taken anything else besides a little whey and multi-vitamins.

BACK, Monday, October 3, 2005
Deadlifts 8 x 45 lbs, 5 x 135 lbs, 3 x 185 lbs, 1 x 225 lbs, 1 x 275 lbs, 1 x 335 lbs, 1 x 375 lbs
Pull Ups BWx8 (closer grip), BWx4 (wider grip), BWx4 (wider grip)
Hammer Curls 10 x 45 lbs

Notes: Solid deadlift pull, hopefully I can get back to at least 405 with my singles before they plateau. Close grip pull ups were a piece of cake today, I flew up on each rep except 7 and 8. Did some wider grip pull ups for a change of pace. Hammer curls form got sloppy, gotta work on this next week, but decent overall.

Glad to hear the pullups are coming along. Those wide grips can certainly be humbling, thats for sure.

Thanks Mav. I think I'm gonna stick to closer then wider grip pull ups, and when that stalls out add some weight and do less reps. And yes...wide grip pull ups make you feel very weak lol.

Thank you pierini... but I won't be satisfied unless my singles get over 405 again. I've lost a lot of ground on the DL...my favorite lift But I'm being patient in returning to where I was, despite comments from Firehawk lol

SPEED BENCH, Wednesday, October 5, 2005
Speed Bench 10 x 45 lbs, 5 x 85 lbs, 3 x 95 lbs, 2 x 115 lbs, 9 sets of 3 @ 125 lbs (3 diff. grips)
DB Seated MP 10 x 45 lbs, 10 x 45 lbs, 7 x 50 lbs
Lateral Raises 6 x 35 lbs
Front Raises 6 x 35 lbs
Crunch Machine 2 sets of 10

Notes: 125 feeling better, reps were smooth and solid. DB seated press is getting easier as well. Decent day overall. Can't wait til my numbers really start to climb.

Speed benching is when you take 50-60% of your one rep max and do 8-9 sets of 3 (generally) and just BLAST the weight. You move it as FAST as you can. This works your speed off the chest and helps you get through sticking points on heavy lifts as well. I have a heavy day and a speed day right now. The 3 different grips I use for the speed benching are pinkies on the rings, ring finger on the rings, and index finger on the rings.

LEGS, Thursday, October 6, 2005
Squats 10 x 45 lbs, 5 x 135 lbs, 3 x 185 lbs, 1 x 225 lbs, 1 x 255 lbs, 1 x 285 lbs
Seated Calf Raises 4 sets of 5

Notes: I really wanted to give SLDLs a shot this week, but my hip starting aching so I thought I'd give it a rest. Nothing serious, hammy not hurting nearly as bad as it used to for squatting. Went heavier on calf raises for no reason, change of pace from my normal 3 or 4x10. All these heavy singles are pretty tough, DLs and squats each week. I gotta get some strength back, then I'll work on endurance/reps. I was surprised how easily 285 went up today though

HEAVY BENCH, Sunday, October 9, 2005
Bench Press (Pinkies On Rings) 10 x 45 lbs, 5 x 95 lbs, 3 x 135 lbs, 1 x 165 lbs, 3x3 @ 195 lbs, 1 x 205 lbs
DB Flat Press 6 x 75 lbs, 5 x 75 lbs
Tricep Pushdowns 6 x 150 lbs, 6 x 150 lbs
Lateral Raises 8 x 30 lbs
Front Raises 8 x 30 lbs

Notes: Not a bad day, weight on benches felt heavier than it should have. I think I should have eaten and slept more, but oh well, hit my reps. First time ever using the 75s for DB presses. Not a lot of time after bench presses, so not much rest time at all in between sets unfortunately.
