well , it was seated and it only was 3 reps. I doubt I can do that much weight standing, but thanks anyway

it was more of a test just to see if I can do it, I won't use that weight next week for my work sets. Now a couple of weeks from now, maybe...

i think my left trap is more developed than my right one, I noticed it in a picture I saw of myself today. I'll bet only I can notice it unless you look real hard, but now it is going to bother the hell outta me cause I know!

lmao .

It's ok, my left bicep is way underdeveloped compared to my right one. I almost have 1 inch size difference in my arms!!!!!!

WOW, 1 inch is a big difference! Usually the difference is slight, but man, I don't feel so bad now, lol

Doesn't it suck though? I mean, my left trap is bigger, my biceps are different shapes, the left one has more of a peak and more space between my inner elbow and the muscle and the right one is just more fuller looking, but not as shapely, hell, my chest is even uneven...my right "pec" seems more full than the left side....

Oh well, don't plan on getting on stage and being judged anytime soon, so I will just keep pressing away

I'm glad us powerlifters are only concerned with strength and not every minor flaw

yes that is a good thing, although I wouldn't really consider myself to be a powerlifter...i think i may fall in the category of "powerbuilder". I am interested in strong lifts, but I am also interested in how I look to an extent...I do lots of lateral raises to try to fill out my shoulders, I WILL do incline presses for whatever they may or may not do for my upper chest, and I will even do flies if I feel like it...so yeah I don't care about the minor flaws I may have in the grand scheme of things, but I am aware of them and try to do what I can to minimize their appearance.

I feel your pain, when I was born the doctor who pulled me out grabbed me by the chest and caved the right side in ... talk about uneven lol

coming good the more weights I do though.

guess if gcs is right about aesthetics I'll just have to become a powerlifter

BTW dude, took a read through your journal and you're definately beast strong, way to go ! :

as long as you are not a competing bodybuilder, don't worry too much about the asthetics...just do the best you can and strive to lift more weight each week. If you want to compete, then worry about symmetry and all that other good stuff....

I highly doubt someone is going to walk up to me, stare at my chest for a few seconds and then tell me it's uneven. And if they do, I will knock them out right on the spot, lol

And thanks for the compliments, although I never heard my name and beast strong in the same sentence, lol, but I just keep trying to push more and more weight....Plus I have to stay on top of things so that FIREHAWK doesn't beat me!!

Most powerlifters care about how they look dude. Most can't be that overweight anyway because they try to make a weight class. I just went to the 2005 Senior nationals and 90% of the lifters were 15-20% bf. Last time I looked that was quite acceptable! And in fact, some of those lifters could AND DO easily cut down and compete in bodybuilding.

So, don't assume that powerlifters don't care about how they look. Some dont that's true, but generally you'll find that most do. Generally the only weight class in powerlifting that looks really fat are the super-heavyweights, but even then some of them are quite cut for their size. You'd be amazed.

i didn't mean they don't care AT ALL what they look like, I meant it more like they won't be stressing if their left trap is slightly bigger than the right one if they are deadlifting 500 lbs and shrugging 400, that's what I meant...is that better?

I'm not much of one now, but that is how I feel. As long as I'm fit/healthy and relatively low in bodyfat I'm more concerned with the weight that I'm lifting.

very good point Cort....unless that day ever comes that I can grow some balls to shave my body and wear a speedo in front of many people staring at every nook and cranie of my body, then I am perfectly content to measure success by how healthy I am, and how much I can lift

Friday July 1

Lower back, bis, and abs

deadlifts (sumo style) 245 x 6, 6
I haven't done deads in a while, so i had to start with a lower weight than what I had previously worked up to...these felt fine though, I will be upping the weight next week. I like the feel of the sumo style better than regulars...i can't get the feeling down comfortably for regulars, so I will stick with sumos...I like the way it stresses my inner thighs as well

barbell curls 117.5 x 6, 6
nice and strong on these, good form, no swinging or anything all bis

incline db curls 50x 6 55 x 4
the 55x4 is a PR for this exercise for me. I was up to 65 lb db curls, but I switched to the bb curls for a while, I am torn between db curls and bb curls, but the incline curls felt good, I will stick with these for a while

1 arm cable curls 80 x 7

incline crunches +25 x 12, 12, 12

good workout although my elbow was acting up afterwards. I swear I am falling apart! I think I have double tendinitis in my right elbow--on the rear with my triceps, and on the side of my forearm, like a tennis elbow...this could get ugly, I will monitor this situation and see how it progresses. usually it is sore after the workout, but subsides by morning, we'll see
