leg day update from yesterday:
wicked DOMS in my legs and ass today, big time, having trouble even walking right...I note this cause this is the worst I have ever got it, probably cause it might have been the hardest leg workout I have ever done. I pushed myself hard yesterday on the squats especially--it also didn't help that there was an overabundance of hot girls at the gym yesterday, so you know, it was a little added "motivation"
I hope I have enough left in the tank for chest later this afternoon--we'll see

Yeah, you don't wanna hit the pins on those days! How funny is that your blood, sweat, tears, and ambitions can fail to motivate you enough to get that last rep sometimes, while a sports bra and spandex shorts seem to get it eveytime.

Wow...280 for 6 is no joke. 300 for reps is very near.

I'm 36 and still do. I'm always calling to my wife to come watch what I can do. Even though it isn't much by most people's standards, for me - I get really proud and start in, "hey honey, come watch this".

wednesday 7/6
upper back
pullups----bodyweight + 20lbs x 6, 6, 6
barbell rows( overhand grip)----200lbs x 6, 6
close grip pull downs----210lbs x 6, 6
close grip low cable rows----230lbs x 7, 6, 6
static holds----120lb dbs x 20 seconds x 2
good workout. went up in everything so I was pleased about that...i am however having trouble focusing on the lats during my pull dows and pullup maneuvers. I feel like my arms are doing a lot of the work, my lats only a little. I am trying to use straps and use a thumbless grip on all these movements to see if that focuses on the back more---actually for the rows, it feels more on my back with the thumbless grip, but the pulldowns i still feel a lot in my biceps, but i guess that is somewhat normal....

thursday 7/7
shoulders/tri
seated military press 170lbs x 6, 4
side laterals 35lb dbs x 7, 7, 7 (fast reps)
reverse pec dec 130lbs x 6, 6, 6
close grip bench press 250lbs x 6, 6, 6
achy joints this week, so I did not include weighted dips into my routine this week. I think I may lay off the dips for a while, maybe until I come back from my scheduled break in august. i am enjoying close grip benching right now, so I don't want to skimp on those.

I just saw your title "I need abs". Which leads me to a question. With shoulders that can push 170 for seated military press - what do you need abs for? That is some nice work there. And the close grip bench isn't anything to be sneezed at. :
