Neilio's Lifting Journal

Ok I got my 110lb weight set yesterday from Dick's Sporting Goods, but tuesdy is my rest day, so I tested them out lightly, not to work to hard on them, they are pretty good. OK to my lifting session, here:

Deadlifts
2 sets of 110lb x5 reps
2 sets of 125lb x8 reps
5 sets of 140lb x5 reps*

Squats
3 sets of 70lb x10 reps
3 sets of 80lb x10 rep
8 sets of 90lb x10 reps

I know the squats are pathetic but im doing them without a cage, so I have to lift the weight up, set on my shoulders, then squat. Its the lifting part that killing my max. I just can get 120lb over my head and onto my shoulders.

* I ran out of weight! I need to get 100 more pounds.

Nice calf workout man. Yeah, walking the day after a hard session of hitting your calves can be a real b*tch, lol. Everything is looking good though, definitely keep your head up and stick it out with this journal. I see so many guys here on DF who start journals and stop updating them.

Its Friday so its back and shoulder day.

Military Press
2 sets of 90lb x3 reps
5 sets of 50lb x8 reps

Upright Row
4 sets of 90lb x 3
5 sets of 70lb x 10

Shrugs
5 sets of 100lb

Obviously, the military press is my weakness, but I can improve.

If anyoe has anyother ideas for a good shoulder/ back exercise for me, let me know. Oh I didnt do straight legged deadlifts because im still developing my back muscles.

Missed friday's workout - back and shoulder, but I got in wednesdays's deadlift and squat session.

Squat
5 sets of 90lb x10 reps

Deadlift
6 sets of 148.8lb x5 reps

Man my glutes and my quads are still killen me from wednesday. It sorta bothers me that I missed this workout since my shoulders arnt my stongest point, thus they need more training.

Arm day:

Curls
5 sets of 60lb x10

Tricep Extensons
5 sets of 30 lb x10

Concentration Curls
5 sets of 30lb x8

Floor Bench
4 sets of 100lb x5

My bench sucks because I have never benched before. There is allways room for improvement.

Leg Day:

Squat
5 sets of 100lb x10

Deadift
3 sets of 148lb x5
4 sets of 120lb x5*

*Had to take some wight off the bar because my dad thought it was too much to be doing 148 when I can do it easily, powerfully, and fast - no struggling at all.

Oh well.

Looking good man, not bad numbers for being 13.

How's the pairing of dl and squat? I used to do that and can tell you it is not the smartest thing i did. You may want to think about splitting those up.
