I am happy to say my gall bladder surgery is on Monday @ 7:30 am. I am ready to get this thing taken out and on with life. I am in good hands with JDR3 and my 2 teenage boys. They will take care of me and keep the house going during recovery..... and will likely order out dinner a lot. 5 mile walk today with my neighbor and dog on New York Creek Trail. Light swimming with my son in 90+ degree weather. Beautiful, sunny, California day.

6/25 - Gall bladder removal went great. Surgery was at 7:30 am and JDR3 had me home with my feet up by 12:30 the same morning. No nausea, no pain, and no medication other than Tylenol. They do this lapro-scopically now and it's just amazing how small the stitches are.

6/28 light walking for 30 minutes with no incline.

6/29 2 mile walk (meandering) outside with my son who walked our dog.

6/30 5000 precor strides with no resistance and no incline.

Feeling great and taking it slow but needed some movement.

Glad to hear that your surgery went well. It sounds like you are recovering quickly. Make sure that you give JDR3 and the boys time to improve their skills in nursing, cooking, cleaning and all the other jobs you can think of.

Thanks Bob44 and gymgirl for checking in on me. I am easing back into it, but couldn't just sit around doing nothing. I guess I should be better about "milking it" but JDR3 and the boys are on to me and it's back to business as usual.

7/1 - complete rest day.

7/2 2 mile walk with my dog and 9000 precor strides with no incline and no resistance at a very moderate speed.

7/3 9000 precor strides @ resistance 2 no incline = 715 calories.
Also did some grocery shopping that completely wiped me out. Good reminder that I am still recovering from my surgery and can't do everything I want.

Minime... so glad you stopped by. I am working on getting my stamina back up then I want to get back to some cross-fit work-outs.

7/4/07
Light stretching
11875 precor strides (increased from 9000)
Resistance 3 (4000 strides), 4 (4000 strides), 5 (3875 strides)
Total 1000 calories
NOTE: I increased the # of strides and resistance today to continue building up my stamina.

Since it's over 100 today here in Cali- I did some swimming and used my floatation weights to do arm work-outs in the pool.

HAPPY 4th of July!!!!

Eliptical 10,815 strides @ level 5 resistance and level 5 incline = 1000 calories. Both resistance and incline increased from yesterday to improve my stamina.

Also, sweated like crazy while watching 3 baseball games out in the 108 degree weather. I drank ~200 oz of fluids throughout the day and felt like I sweated all of it right back out.

Oldest son's team lost both games of a double-header; however he played catcher and did great even in the heat and with all the "gear" on.

Youngest son won his "All-Star" game with JDR3 as coach. He started the game as pitcher, then right field and 3rd base ... also 3 hits out of 4 at bats and turned a double play. He was a on fire!

Ended the day with a midnight swim in the pool with JDR3 and the 2 boys to cool down before bedtime. Wow... what a great summer day!!!

Brat- I really appreciate the encouragement. It feels great to get moving and get back to working out. I hate sitting around.

7/6 - Biked to/from the gym ~1/2 mile each way in 102 degree weather.

2 reps of:
- 25 abductor - outer thigh - 80 lbs
- 25 abductor - inner thigh - 80 lbs
- 25Leg Press @ 80lb
- 15 Leg Ext @ 70lb
- 15 chest Press @ 50lb
- 15 shoulder press @ 40lb
- 15 seated row hands over @ 70lb
- 15 seated row hands under @ 70lb

25 minutes stationary bike on level 7.

I took my work-out slow and didn't push really hard since this was my 1st trip back to the gym and it's still really hot so I am trying not to over do it.

Had a relaxing day with the family today. Went to see the movie Transformers (very entertaining) and dinner at Benihana's.
