9/7 6:00 am - 4.5 mile run with dog and neighbor.

About 1 week ago I changed from the Weight Watchers online tools to the Fitday online tools so that I can get a better view of Carbs/Fats/Protein ratio. Wow... didn't realize how much carbs are in "everything". I am finding ways to 'tweak" my eating to increase the protein and reduce the carbs. My portions are still too big because my calories remain higher than expected --- although I am eating healthy, whole, raw, foods. I have learned a lot this week. I am good at the exercise (because I love it) but always struggle with my eating habits..... Doing better at grabbing a piece of fruit or veggies instead of other bad for me snacks. Plugging along.......

Hi, no-frills

Sorry I haven't been by in awhile. I'm glad to see you continuing with the weight training, in addition to your cardio!

Isn't fitday so helpful? I did the same thing as you before i began logging. I thought I'm eating healthy..i had no idea how many carbs i was getting! It really puts things into perspective and helps you make the appropriate changes to your diet. Keep at it, you are doing great! :

oooh i also wanted to tell you..(because if i remember correctly you are a sushi fan) taht I have become addicted to sushi! I used to HATE it and only went because my best friend loved it, but when she moved to LA 4 years ago I never had it again. I was out with a couple of trainers from my gym and we went to sushi and I just fell in love with it. I've had it everyweek now. I drag different people each weekend. haha, tomorrow I'm making another friend go with me. I love this one at this place i go to called the seattle roll. salmon, avacado and cream cheese. soooooo good. I don't think I'll ever get to the point where I can eat the sushi that has the big raw fish draped over the top, but I really like a little piece of fish inside the roll.

Gymgirl... glad you stopped by. I haven't been on other journals much lately either. The boys are back in school and I have been doing some light traveling for work so by the evening or weekends the last thing I feel like doing is being on the computer. I get hundreds of emails for work so I try not to be on the computer anymore than I have to.

I LOVE to eat Japanese / Sushi; however I don't enjoy the "spongy" textures like squid and won't eat anything with tentacles. What I like best.... I can get in a bunch of protein for very few points / calories. My family likes to go to Japanese but the boys and JDR3 get tempura, sesame or teriaki.... they don't eat fish at all... especially not raw fish!

Went to see the Sacramento RiverCats win the play-off game at Raley field on 9/14. Great fun with my Mom, 2 of my 4 brothers and my sister in law.

Also, Thursday & Friday nights are reserved for high-school football. Gotta love-it! Youngest son is playing Freshman Football.

Oldest son is playing Fall baseball with 1-2 games per week.

No shortage of things to do..... ;0)
