pierini : way to go on resisting that chocolate! I thought of you today when i was fighting my battle with the hard candies, so i have to say thank you : as thinking of how you resisted chocolate in a shop filled with sweet smelling delights made me think that i should have NO trouble resisting a few hard candies.

As your little sister I won't ask burpees of you, but you'd need to take me and my yakky girlfriends to the gym and then the mall in your hot car!
You are one fitness lifestyle role model.

Hi Dan,
I've been doing alot of pullups lately to get ready for the Marine PT test, but I generally do more pullups than the average person, even though my volume has gone down compared to years past.
I generally decide my workouts at the last minute, although if you look at my training logs over a longer time period, you would see some patterns.
Thanks for asking.

Went downstairs to my basement at 6:40 a.m.
6-grip pullup/chinup medley - rested 2 minutes between sets.
#1 = standard grip pullups x 16
#2 = standard grip chinups x 12
#3 = close grip pullups x 8 (surprised!)
#4 = close grip chinups x 8
#5 = wide grip pullups x 7
#6 = wide grip chinups x 8
Total of 59 reps which ties my PR.
bar dips and knuckle pushups - sets 1,3 and 5 were bar dips and sets 2,4 and 6 were knuckle pushups - rested 2 minutes between sets.
18-25-12-20-8-20 = total of bar dips and knuckle pushups of 103 reps.
Burpees - took a short walk to a park near my home, across the street from the church/school where both my Dad and I went to elementary school and both served as altar boys. My wife and I were also married there. Many pleasant memories . . . blah, blah, blah, blah.
So my plan was to do either a 50 rep or 100 rep burpee workout for time, depending how I felt. Let's just say I felt more like doing the 50 rep workout and that is what I did. After the basement workout, I didn't have the pressing explosiveness to attack those burpees from the ground up, although my jumps were good. I completed 50 reps in 5:09.
Then I slowly walked home.
Oh, since it is all good, let's give me credit for about an 800 meter walk to and from the park.
So today I am at a client's location all day again and will be unable to surf DF. I'll try to get on tonight at home to see what everyone has been up to. Have a great day!
Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.
p.s. what a beautiful, spring-like feeling morning. Should be very nice today just like yesterday.

In my family room starting at 6:35 a.m. Dynamic visualized resistance (DVR) exercises consisting of these 7 Tiger Moves:
Tiger Moves
Full Range Pectoral Contraction
Shoulder Roll
Wrist Twist
High Reach
One Armed Chin
Ab Contraction
Half Squat
Completed all 7 moves as one round. Completed 3 rounds as follows:
Round #1 = light to moderate tension (50-70% of max) x 10 reps each.
Round #2 = moderate plus to hard tension (70%+ to 85% of max) x 8 reps each.
Round #3 - hard plus to maximum tension (85%+ to 100% of max) x 6 reps each. The 6th rep was at 100% of max and I held the terminal point of the movement range in an isometric contraction/flex pose for a 10-count.
Very refreshing yet challenging change-of-pace workout. I needed to give the pullup bar a break today. I crawled out of bed at 5:00 a.m. thinking that today would be needed rest day but I later got the itch to do these and I am glad I did. I feel much better now.
Saturday morning is my dojo workout, then to my office for another Saturday work day. Sunday is a rest day. Monday I'll get one final shot of the Marine PT test, then I'll be ripe to make some changes to my training.
I'm at a client's location again today so I will not be able to surf DF but I will get on tonight at home and see what everyone has been up to. Have a great day and get a jump on what I hope will be a great weekend for you!

Saturday morning dojo workout.
I'm at my office working for the rest of today, again looking outside my window and adoring the beautiful weather. I bet it will be every bit of 70F degrees today. Hope it's nice where you are at. Enjoy the outdoors for me, and enjoy your weekend!

Thanks for stopping by seraph.
Got a new book - "Isometric Power Revolution" by John Peterson. I've got new bodyweight stuff to incorporate into the mix of what I do. Should keep me out of trouble for a while. 284 pages of quality stuff. It will take a while to sort out.
late p.m. edit: got a late night energy surge so I decided to test out the classic isometric contractions and the peak contraction isometric power flex exercises in this book for my pecs, deltoids, biceps and triceps. Interesting. This will give me some training options the next couple of months as I become really busy with my work and need to compact my daily training into 10 to 20 minutes workout sessions.

Active rest day.
In the morning, I did the Magnificent 7 warmup exercises in my new book "Isometric Power Revolution". 12 reps of each warmup exercise. Felt good.
In the late afternoon, I walked at a moderate pace to and from Sunday Mass for a total of 2 miles.
So the plan is to bed by 11:00 p.m., up by 5:00 a.m. and at the gym by 6:00 a.m. for one final effort at the Marine Physical Fitness test. I can hardly wait.
Sleep tight!
