Active rest. A total of 6 miles of transportation-oriented walking (in-lieu of driving my car) throughout the day. 3 miles of walking to and from a client's location, and another 3 miles of walking to and from the movie theatre (I saw Nacho Libre) and worked my abs/core with some good and healthy laughter.

Early morning at the park. Tiger Moves #1 to #7 - 10 reps of each move at moderate tension. Then an 8-mile long & slow run in 65:25 (8:11/mile pace). My average HR was 153 bpm (83% of max) and my highest HR was 166 bpm (90% of max).
I then got in a good stretch of my hams, quads, glutes, calves, etc.
I may do some more stuff later today. If it is substantial, I'll edit my post.
I'm two weeks out from my July 4th 5-mile fun run which starts my 2006 fun-run season. I'm looking to cover the 5-mile course at a 7:15/mile pace. We will see.
Enjoy your weekend.

Hi Brat,
That's because you are going extra slow so you can check out all the men who are checking you out, and hear them when they throw a secret wolf howl.

Darn! I know you had your location in your profile, but I've been reading Sacramento but in my mind picturing Sausalito therefore thinking not far from SF! (I lived a year in Palo Alto, as a kid)
My bad!

Rest day but I did walk 2 miles to and from Sunday Mass in the late afternoon at a moderate pace, estimated at an 18 minute mile pace.
Monday, June 19, 2006
Wasn't able to get a workout in today but I did walk a total of 4 miles, all transporation-oriented in-lieu of driving my auto. But it sure is getting hot these days and I've had to slow down my walking pace to appoximately a 20 minute mile pace.
Caught myself being extra grouchy Monday evening, ticked that I didn't get my planned workout in. Watched the Charles Atlas biography video and told myself that I would be working out at 6:00 a.m. the following morning.
Tuesday June 20, 2006
At the park at 6:00 a.m., I warmed up by doing all 7 Tiger Moves, 10 reps each at moderate tension. I then ran 5 miles in 40:50. My average HR was 149 bpm (81% of max) and my highest HR was 164 bpm (89% of max). It sure was beautiful at 6:00 a.m. in the morning at the park. I'm going to do it again tomorrow.
I then walked a total of 4.5 miles during the day, again all transportation-oriented in-lieu of driving my car. I'll continue this for the rest of the week as I am working at a client's location in the downtown area. But the temperature is scheduled to get as high as 108 degrees later in the week so that'll make for some "hot walking".
My log is current and I'm spending the rest of this evening watching the Miami vs. Dallas NBA playoff game. Enjoy the rest of your day.
Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.
p.s. Hi Amanda, my first fun run is July 4th - a 5-miler or 8k for those who are metric-minded. I'm shooting for a 7:15/mile pace - we'll see.

At the park at 6:10 a.m. - I warmed up by doing all 7 Tiger Moves, 10 reps each at moderate tension. I then ran 5 miles in 39:28 (1:22 faster than yesterday). My average HR was 153 bpm (83% of max) and my highest HR was 165 bpm (89% of max). Another beautiful early morning at the park before the heat settles in.
Again I walked to and from a client for a total of about 3 miles today. It was 100 degrees today and should be 102-104 degrees tomorrow.

At the park at 7:00 a.m. Tiger Moves #1 to #7 at moderate plus tension, 10 reps each move.
Then, a 10 mile run in 81:12 (8:07/mile pace). My average HR was 151 bpm (82% of max) and my highest HR was 162 bpm (88% of max).
Then I stretched my hams, quads, glutes, calves, etc.
My log is current. Its going to be very hot today, but later on I'm going on a long walk with my wife. Enjoy your weekend!

It's a 5 miler and a great crowd and lots of early morning fun before the hot-dog eating begins. I know you could do it, it's just a matter if you want to.
You'd have lots of fun and fit right in. Jason and Steve Heard will be running with me. Starts at 8:30 a.m. Let me know if you decide to join us. I may not be to the dojo before then.

Haven't stopped by in a while. Your running logs are looking great! I don't think I can even walk 10 miles anymore!
