Rowell's Get In Shape Log


Basically I am going to try and head to the gym everyday during lunch at work. LA Fitness is right across the street from work :]

I am 20 years old, about 5'6 or 5'7 and weight about 185 lbs. My short term goal is to get my weight down to 175. I would also like to gain a little more muscle. But my ultimate goal is to remain healthy :

Today I brought some salad with light italian dressing sprinkled with croutons. I will probably eat this before I make my way to the gym, which should be between 12pm and 1pm. I also have a small bag of peanuts that I will snack on up until my salad.

Yesterday I used the elliptical machine for about 15 minutes then rode the bike for 10 minutes.

Today I plan to do some weights, aiming at my chest and triceps. 3 sets of 6-10 reps.

What I envision myself doing so far is doing weights every other day and cardio on the nonweightlifting days.

hey rowelld, good to see you have some goals laid out for yourself and a plan to reach them. One suggestion is to keep track of what you eat throughout the day - every day for a while. Be sure to include the right amount of protein, carbohydrate, and fat for your body's individual needs with each meal. For example instead of just a salad, have some protein with that salad - like a chicken breast. Even better would be some chicken breast that was cooked with olive oil for some healthy fat.

Best wishes on your fitness goals. This is a good place to keep up with your workout log so you can see where you've been, where you are, and where you are going.
