This gym is too crowded. There was a line for the squat station so I had to do leg press instead. I can't imagine how it's gonna be after this weekend (New Years Resolutions).

45 Degree Leg Press
360 x 6
410 x 6
410 x 6
Legs close together to focus on quads more.

SLDL
185 x 6
225 x 6

Calf Raises
360 x 15
360 x 15

Shrugs
185 x 20

A line for the squat station? What kind of gym do you go to? Do others besides you deadlift there too?

I'd actually like to try a leg press someday but don't have access to one.

They weren't actually waiting to squat. They usually use it for curls and other things like that . I haven't seen anyone else deadlift at this gym. It's a YMCA, so it's basically senior citizens on the machines and high school kids doing curls. I'll be back at the college gym in 3 weeks, so no worries.

And I wouldn't say you are missing too much by not doing leg press. I feel like I get a much better workout when I do squats.

Went to NYC for new years weekend and stood in the cold and rain for 12 hours in times square. It was an awesome time though.

Quick workout today before work..
Seated Cable Rows
215 x 8
230 x 6
230 x 6

200 x 6 Lat Pulldown (Hammer)

40's x 8 DB Curl
8 Reps on the 40's was nice, shooting for 45's next time.

It was great besides the fact that there are no bathrooms, and you can't come back if you leave. I met some really cool people from all over the world during the day. It was so much fun. Here's some pics...

Heavy Bench Day,
185 x 3, after this I decided I would go for a 1 rep max
205 x 1 PR
I felt like I could have done at least 5-10 pounds more, I'll see if I can put up 215 next time.

DB Incline Press
75's x 6
75's x 6
75's x 6
Might be time for the 80's.

Quick, but a good workout.

Very nice PR bro, 205 is a great milestone, it'll build up your confidence cuz now you know you can bench 200+ and it will just get easier.

Pics from New Years look awesome, I wish I coulda gone. Cute girls in the first pic too : By the way...were you drunk?

lol yeah just a little . I look ridiculous in some of the pics haha. Those girls were from Texas and we hung out with them all night, they were cool. I'm actually still keeping in touch with them right now. We also met some girl scouts from Indiana who are gonna mail cookies to our dorm, we'll see if that really happens.

and yea 205 was sweet, it was surprisingly easy, I'm almost positive I could have gotten 215. My confidence is sky high right now, I love it.

I remember when I PRed 205, went up damn easy, but missed 215. It's all mental bro, just gotta tell yourself it isn't as heavy as you think and just push with all your might. And yes, I am still jealous of your New Years I got thrown thru a wall and we had to call 911 for this one girl. That's our excitement lol.

Probably shoulda just skipped today cuz I'm feeling pretty sick.

Started out with light squats because my quads are beat from snowboarding this weekend. Numbers not worth mentioning.

SLDL
225 x 6
235 x 6
up 10 on these

Good Mornings
135 x 6
135 x 6

Wanted to do more but I figured it'd be better just to leave and relax for today. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.

Haven't done direct shoulder work in a little bit...

Seated DB Press
60's x 6

Arnold Press
45's x 6
45's x 6
45's x 6
These felt good, up from 40's last time, and should be ready for 50's next.

Side Laterals
25's x 10
25's x 10

Front Raises
45 plate x 10
20's x 10

Rear Laterals
15's x 10
15's x 10
Never done rear laterals and they were tough!

Greg tell me your thrown through a wall story, sounds interesting haha
