Leg Day

Squats
135 x 5
185 x 3
225 x 1
255 x 1
275 x 1
285 x 2 PR
Was shooting for 3-reps at 285, but I leaned forward on the 2nd rep and started seeing stars. I could have gotten it easily otherwise. Haven't touched anything above 275 on squats so it's a PR regardless, and I'm really burying my squats now.

SLDL
285 x 6
285 x 6 PR
I love deadlifting.

DB Lunges
65's x 6
65's x 6

Leg Extensions
210 x 10
210 x 10

Hamstring Curls
140 x 8
140 x 8

Every set of accessory work was a PR, but I don't want to make the whole screen red! So I just highlighted the important ones. Next week I'll probably do heavy walkouts and low-box squats.

Great workout man, you are much closer to 315 than you realize. The stiff-legged DLs look awesome too, 285 for those isn't a joke. I saw your post in Mav's journal about the CoC grippers by the way. If you can afford it, I'd get the Trainer and #1. You may have trouble with the Trainer at first, but it should get easy with practice. If it's easy already, it will be a good warm up for the #1. Just my 2 cents...

Thanks Greg. I just ordered the trainer and the No. 1 so I'll start adding in grip training some time next week. Should be humbling, haha

Push Workout

Vertical Press
215 x 6 PR
230 x 3 PR
Last week's best was 215 x 5. I'd say the shoulder's about 90% right now.

Individual Arm Presses (Nautilus)
60's x 10
65's x 8
70's x 6
Big Progress here, I only did 55's x 10 last week.

Tricep Pushdowns
185 x 6
195 x 8 PR
The second set was crazy. Took all I had.

Scaption Exercise
15's x 10
15's x 10
15's x 10
Much easier than last week, shoulder felt fine.

Overall another really solid push workout. That's two weeks in a row now. Hoping the shoulder continues to improve and I can move back to freeweights soon.

Just to update..I've lost 2 pounds over the past two weeks while continuing to get stronger in just about every lift. Who said it couldn't be done? Averaging around 2400-2500 calories and I feel great so far. Looking a little more lean in the mirror. I think I'm due for some pictures to keep myself in check, so I'll take care of that this weekend.

I have a new sign-on now. So everybody can call me by my real name.

Eric_B, the lifter formerly known as sn0boarder.

Back in action at soccer tonight and I'm pumped. I can't wait to get out there.

Apparently soccer is a brutal sport for me. I sprained my left ankle pretty badly, so I'm going to be on crutches for awhile. I'm taking this week off and then I may try and hobble to the gym and do some upper body work next week. Just a minor setback, I'll be back doing serious lifting in a few weeks hopefully. But I'm not gonna rush it. They did say it looked pretty bad and were surprised that it didn't break. Maybe all this weightlifting kept things from breaking or tearing? It's still pretty swollen right now, but it's gone from grapefruit-sized last night to baseball sized today. I'm just mad because all I could think about this weekend was going for a 365 deadlift today....so much for that idea.

But it wasn't all bad. I scored 2 goals before the incident and we won 4-3.

Huh, I thought we had another Eric on board. Then I was the post count and what thread it was in.

This will take a day or two to get used to. While we are getting used to the new handle hyou can rest up, heal, and get that DL later.

That one ankle will probably always be a little larger than the other one, or at least that has been my experience. Years ago when I played racquetball, I was always twisting my ankle and spraining it. It sound like yours is a more serious injury.

Now, after many years of karate training, my ankles are strong and I've never had an injury since.

Work around your injury. It's an excellent opportunity to train neglected areas. I injured my right hand once and it took over a year to heal. I actually thought it would hurt forever. I used it as an opportunity to train my left side and got better as a result.

Keep moving forward.

Sorry to hear about the ankle I hope it heals up quick for you. 285x6 for SLDL is some sick weight, good job.

Thank you for the kind words everyone. At least I'll have plenty of time to work on grip training. The Coc grippers should be here any day now. I figure that when I can stand without crutches, I'll be able to do most of my upper body exercises.

I just cleaned out my messages, I didn't even notice there was a limit of 20.

The worst part about all this is that I can't drive. My car is manual transmission, so I need both feet. I was able to get rides when I needed it today, but I'm probably gonna have to rent a car or something.

Just got my trainer and #1 grippers today...and these are definitely harder than expected. I'll be working with the trainer for awhile, as the #1 I didn't even come close to closing. I was happy to at least be able to close the trainer though.

Warmed up with a Gripmaster gripper that I found laying around.

Trainer
3 sets of 6 closes for each hand (Very hard)

10-second close-holds...3 sets

I like grip training. The trainer feels pretty solid, but my hands were really hurtin' after this. Gotta start somewhere I guess.

In other news, I've been able to put some weight on my ankle, so I'm going to hobble to the gym later this week and get a few upper body workouts in. I miss the gym so much

congrats on the ankle getting a bit better :

the grippers will take some getting used to if you haven't used them before. I imagine within a month or two you'll have the trainer down easy and the #1 won't be too far behind. It took me a while of inconsistent training to rep the #1, but if you keep at it you'll get it soon for sure.
