SLDL
275 x 8, 295 x 3, 305 x 3
1 Mile Treadmill Run: 5:56 (PR)
Also did curls and some other basic stuff. Keeping the volume very low this week because I have my final assessments for my fitness class and I want to be well-rested for that.

Yea I remember struggling to get under 8 minutes back in the day. It just took some dedicated running, and being lighter certainly helps as well.
Bench Press
205 x 1,1,1
215 x 1 (ties PR)
Just practiced some singles, I have to test out on bench press either friday or monday. The 215 felt solid and that's all I need to pass the bench test. I'll give 225 a shot though.
Then I practiced Turkish get-ups. Worked up to a 50lb dumbbell and then moved on to a 45lb bar. The bar was much more difficult, but not bad once I got the hang of it. I'll continue working on these in the future.
Finished with a 1.5 Mile Campus Run, untimed.

BB Bench
215 x 1, 225 x 0
Got both up, 225 wasn't paused long enough so it didn't count. I missed on the second try at 225. I'd like to count this, but I won't until I can get it properly.
One-Arm Chin-ups
Bw x 6 (each arm)
Bw x 5 (each arm)
Bw x 4 (each arm)
Something new I figured I'd try. I had no idea that I could even do one rep, so I was very happy. It's kinda cool to think that just a few years ago I couldn't manage one standard chin-up, and now I'm doing them with one arm.
I'm taking some time off from running this week after several PR's last week. I will get back into a structured routine next week because I am done with my fitness class.

One-arm chinups are impressive.
Where is your other hand when you perform these.
Bee careful with elbow tendonitis.

I put my other hand on my forearm. I don't know if that's conisdered "cheating" or anything, but it worked out well for me.

OK that is tough too but I believe that is better described as a one-arm assisted chinup.
A true one-handed chinup or pullup is with the other hand not touching. There are some good youtube videos of some playground adults doing pure one-handed pullups/chinups which are very, very tough and a recipe for elbow tendonitis.
Very good nonetheless. I'm good for a couple reps with my right arm and probably no reps presently with my left.
Keep the pedal to the metal!

Front Squat
185 x 6, 185 x 6
1 Mile Run (Treadmill): 5:54 ( PR)
Running PR's are becoming more and more difficult. I"m really pushing my limits...but I love it. The physical results are certainly worth it.
Played basketball for about an hour, then relaxed in the sauna.
I probably won't have much time to lift this week because of finals. I'll be doing a structured program as soon as possible though.
P.S. Thanks Pierini, I figured my one-arm chinups were too good to be true. I like using youtube for workout ideas from time to time.

Consistently running sub-6 minute miles is great work, those few seconds make a big difference. Good luck with finals, I just had my first one today.

Thanks Greg, Finals went well and I'm glad to be done with that semester. I'll have a little more free time to work out in the upcoming weeks because I am only working part-time over break. I got a new job as a ready-fit coach at the local YMCA. It doesn't really give me the training freedom that I would like, but it should be a good resume builder, and it will tide me over until I become certified as a trainer. I have not set a date for my test but I plan to use my free-time over winter break to prepare for it. Anyways, here's todays workout...
Clean and Press singles of 115, 135
Clean and Jerk singles of 115, 135
Powercleans - 115 x 10, 115 x 10
BB Snatch - 95 x 5
I did quite a few singles just practicing my form and then did working sets of powercleans. It's amazing how much easier cleans become when you stay over the bar. First time trying clean and jerk and bb snatch.
1 Mile Treadmill Run: 5:49 (PR)
I actually had a little left in me at the end. I think this was because I was really excited to run since I had not done any cardio in a week.

Good workout today.
Congrats on successfully finishing the semester and on that great running PR. It is official - as of right now, you are fitter in the running department than me. I've been nursing a heel injury since Thanksgiving Day and have zero running under my belt since then.
Looking forward to more training posts from you. It sure feels good when you get in a good clean, doesn't it?

Mr. P, we seem to be pretty even at this point. I think you may be stronger than me now with they way you've been training. I may be a step ahead in the running department but I doubt it would take you long to catch up.
I'm holding steady at about 165 and this seems like a good weight for me. I don't have any plans to bulk up over the winter. I'm going to fort lauderdale in mid-january, so I'm trying to be fit for that.
Wednesday 12/19
DB Row's - 90's x 10, 90's x 10
Arnold Press - 45's x 10, 45's x 10
Lateral Raises - 30's x 10, 30's x 10
1 Mile Treadmill Run - 5:52
The run was three seconds slower than monday's PR. I wasn't feeling too great and was happy to finish under 6 minutes. I feel like I'm coming down with the virus that my girlfriend had last week, so I might take a few days off.
That's all for now. Time for some christmas shopping
