It's tough about your boyfriend. Maybe this'd help. Be really fun, more fun than him, lots of laughs and kisses, but make sure you get the first round. Order whatever you want and his beer/vodka/whatever. When its time for him to get the drinks, just explain that you've got girl problems (he wont ask further) but keep the fun energy.
I used to not drink at all, so I can kind of understand, but its a toughie. Let me know how it goes.
Re , for the latera raises what were you using? I'm thinking of giving the cables a shot. I imagine they'll give constant tension inward as well as down. What do you think?

we've been dating for 14 months, he knows when I am having girl problems! lol, but thanks...it hasn't been going well ..I'm afraid about all of this, but what am I doing crying to everyone on here? won't really get me anywhere haha..I hope this works out..I really love him!!
for lateral raises, I was using a straight bar on the cables and yes I am feeling it this morning haha. It definitaly keeps the movemend solid and as long as you know how to use the proper movement and form you will definitaly feel it too but make sure you use a heavy enough weight. I did cycles of these and by the time I came back to do the third round I was fatiqued!

talia, mine has complained that I became 'boring' because I drink so little now, i was a real party animal back when we met!!
What you must realise though, is that his complaining about you not drinking is really related to his own insecurity. Just like with 'bad' food, people feel better about their own over-consumption if they are not alone. Not drinking makes others feel uncomfortable sometimes, it is as if you are saying 'drinking is bad' and that means they begin to feel guilty, and try to push you to indulge. Just like a woman who thinks that if her friend eats a slice of cake also, that makes it ok for her to do so too.
I know that doesn't help, because you can't change how people feel about things like that. I told Erik that I was sorry if it bothered him, but that I would not change my alcohol or bad food consumption to suit him, or anybody else. It is my body, and I choose what to put in it and when.
Good luck!

minime--and jmike (i'm crying again)- it definitaly helps knowning somoene else went through the same thing and they are still together. He is a very insecure person to begin with and I think that brings a lot of problems to the table with us. I was a party animal as well and now I am completely different, but he has to realize that I am working very hard to get the body I want and even though he tells me I am beautiful everyday when I look in the mirror it's not the same, but he just doesn't realize it...
He tried telling me last night that alcohol can't do much to your body (he's a very slender male, very little body fat and doesn't eat like I do nor does he have the same exercise habits AT ALL) so it's hard for him to relate to me to what I am doing and he doesn't try and it's hard to get him to see things the way I do, but he's young and doesn't care.
I have been so frustrated the past few days and he is at the core. I care about him so much and I know I don't have to deal with his nonsense, but I truely love him and would do anything for him-other than drink the night away-that's another reason why I can't see myself without him, because I don't want to go back to the single night life of drinking and I know how deep my love really is for him
It's true, as long as someone else is doing it it's ok and if no one else is drinking it's not as fun, which I agree on, if he wasn't drinking I wouldn't drink alone
Another problem is my gym addiction, last night I left his house early because I was planning on going to the gym until his insecurities overruled him and he started talking about my trainer!!!!!!!!! he's now thinking since I spend so much time at the gym I am falling for a trainer..which i am not..(I had to add that in there because again, it relates to my fitness aspect)
I really have no one else to turn to, my friend says leave him, I can't talk to my mother because she hates seeing me upset and my dad, well he's seen them all come and go he's just waiting for it to happen I think.
we have been together for 14 months...a long time...how long have you are your boyfriend been seeing each other minime and how did you over come this with him?
edit: I didn't end up going to the gym today, I was too tired from crying and wanted to sleep. I work from 5:00-1:00am and I just needed some time to relax..tomrorow I will go back because when I am frustrated I work out a lot harder for some reason because I take it out on my body and the weights haha

Hey, maybe you're just looking at as too big an issue? Sometimes I'll direct lots of small frustrations about things I can't fix/change into one big thing that I can fix (or at least blame). You're too close to the issue and you're getting more frustrated about it, so you guys fight about it so you get more frustrated and repeat. Take a step back, maybe try make a joke about it, at your expense, it might lighten the mood to a point where you can come in with a 'Seriously though, I'm a bit worried about how this is coming between us.'
My girlfriend has been gone a while but she gets back tommorow. I'm really stoked to see her, and I know she's definately part of the reason I stay in shape. Not the main reason, but I *want* to be hot for her, and she definately deserves a sexy mofo boyfriend. Fortunately, so far, I'm ticking that box, and things can only get better. She's a bigger priority than the gym, but thankfully by working smart, and communicating the two don't really get in the way of each other.
I'd also suggest maybe doing something that's a bridge for the two of you. Rock climbing is a lot of fun and it's really good exercise and even if you just do it once a week it'd be a great meeting of your worlds (as it were).
Mike

Today I walked/ ran for 30 min but mostly walked. I have been running on the treadmill and not outside lately because of my work schedule, ect and I really have seen a decrease in stamina running outside in 80 degree weather compared to treadmill running in an air conditioned building

It's always that way eh? I keep getting told that I'm losing weight and looking good, but I don't think it's true - well I think I look good, but I know I haven't lost weight lol - so it's nice when others help give validation! Your workouts look good
