hey tim, sorry to hear your bench press hit a plateau... but I suspect you will get it soon!
to be at bodyweight in one year would be awesome! rx'd linda, yeah! I suspect it will be a lot more than a year before I can do it.

3 rounds for time:
-shoulder 100 lb sandbag, 10 reps
-20 box jumps, 20" box
Finished in 8:16. Was intending to do 5 rounds, but ran up against limited time.

Better to run up against a time limit than a performance limit. It feels better to know that I could have done more than to quit because I couldn't do more.

-45 lb kettlestack, hand to hand swings, 2 minutes
- jump rope 1 minute - this is active rest; don't count the reps
-20" box jumps, 2 minutes
-jump rope 1 minute, active rest
-shoulder 100 lb sandbag, all the way from the floor each rep, 2 minutes
-jump rope 1 minute, active rest
round 1: 67 / 35 / 11 = 113
round 2: 66 / 35 / 13 = 114
total score = 227

Well, I decided to just drop back a few pounds and start working up again from there. We'll see how it goes. Once again, the main thing is consistency, which continues to be lacking. I feel like I've been slacking in many areas of my life recently, and am praying for the mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical strength to stop making excuses and just step up.

AMRAP, 20 minutes - each round add 1 rep to each exercise
-1 burpee
-1 jump over a bench
-1 manmaker, 25 lb db's
Score to beat was 8 rounds + 9/9/1, from 9/28/07. This morning I got 8 rounds + 9/9/4.

I got a free 1-week pass to The Wave, which is a globo-gym-type place here in town. I figured I would use it as a way to get myself back on track, since I've been sucking rather severely lately.
So I went in, walked past all the goofy isolation machines (and there were a LOT of them) to the fairly small free weight area...
bench press
singles - 135, 145, 155, 165, 175
180x10, 9, 8, 7, 6 (fail on 6), 160x5, 4, 3, 2, 1
Then to one of the two squat cages in a several-thousand-square-foot space...
squat - singles
ohs - 65, 85, 95, 100, 105, 110, 115
front - 134, 155, 175, 185, 205, 215, 225
back - 245, 265, 275, 285, 295, 305
Upstairs to the treadmills for some fartlek running:
Warmup: 30 seconds each at 3 mph, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6, 6.5
400 meter repeats at 7 mph, 7.5, 8, 8.5, 8, 7.5, 7 - 1 minute walking at 3 mph before, after, and in between each repeat. Total of 2.56 miles in 27:17. That was fun, but a little weird; it's been quite a long time since I've done that type of thing.
