i like 420! ;-)

great job that looks like a beast. one world had a wod like that but it was

20 push-ups/1 sit-up
19 push-ups/2 sit-ups
etc you know the drill. yuck, KB swings and box jumps seems much worse. i agree wiht jdr your heart must have been beating out of your chest!

great job on the front squat PR too!

Nadia, that looks like a good one too, I'll have to remember it. Maybe tomorrow.

1/23/08:
"Captain Blubear"
35 lb kettlebell, as many reps as possible in 20 minutes:
-clean
-with the bell on your shoulder, squat
-push press
-overhead squat
-snatch
-switch hands for next rep, alternate

I did 53 reps in 19:51. I was trying to come up with a one-arm Bear Complex...a one-arm bear makes me think of a bear with a peg leg...peg legs make me think of pirates...hence the name.

nadia, i like that one too! it would be a good one for a day I didn't feel like going to the gym.

nice work tim! how many kettlebells do you own? I would like to own one someday, a 35# should do me nicely. how much does it cost for one? i know I could google it but I am lazy

that is hilarious! i thought this might be one of eugene allen's dreadful workouts! you should add this one to his list, it looks burtal enough AND has a great name!

Laura, I use an adjustable kettlebell. Purists don't like them, but it works for me, and it's WAAAAY cheaper.

Nadia, I actually added it to the "New CFPC Workouts" thread on the Xfit board, but I said "55 lb kettlebell" there. 35 was plenty hard enough, 55 would be brutal.

good work! that workout definitely deserves a spot on the CFPC list. Did you know eugene lives only 30-40 min south from me and I still have not made it around to visit him and his gym? horrible i know.

1/25/08:

Thanks to Pseudonym for this one...

Colin's Special Little Hate Machine
5 rounds for max reps
-1 minute of thrusters (20 kg, or 45 lb)
-1 minute of burpees
-1 minute of double-unders
Rest 3 minutes between rounds. Multiply total reps by thruster weight (in kg) for score.

I did 227 total reps (double unders SUCKED, I probably missed 30 times) for a score of 4540. Subtracting out the double unders, my score was 3600. This was absolutely horrible. Ridiculously hard workout.

1/26/08: along the same lines as yesterday...

Deo Volente (as in, "If God is willing, I just might live through this...")
3 rounds for max reps
-1 minute wallball, 20 lb ball
-1 minute pullups
-1 minute pushups
-rest 2 minutes
-1 minute 55 lb kettlebell snatch
-1 minute 95 lb overhead squat
-1 minute shoulder 100 lb sandbag (all the way from the floor for each rep)
-rest 2 minutes

Total reps - 225.
