Last cardio was interrupted. Had planned on 30 minutes of treadmill interval inclines, 30 minutes on the bike at race speed, and another 30 on the treadmill, repeating the first 30...got the first hour then had to go on a call that took quite some time.

Workout C

C&J.....85x5, 115x3, 145x1, 155x1, 165 - fail

Squat......165x3x3
Dip.........BWx3x3
Chin.....BW+50x3x3

My clean and jerk form is much better with 135 and 140, by 145 I'm really struggling to get it up so it's definitely a press by then, not a jerk. I'm still pleased and will do this lift once more by contest end if the gods are willing and my left shoulder holds out. After that I'm going lighter for a while to give my shoulder a break...with this and with dips.

Still, not bad results for doing this clean without my TRT right now. Clearing my system and letting receptors clear a bit...this allows me to hopefully get by on the lowest dose possible.

Pics from 140 are included in this post... will edit in video link after I remember how to host it on youtube.

Intense workouts. Are you doing competitions with olympic lifts, or is this to prep for a bodybuilding competition?

good lifts. looking strong.

how do you like working out in chucks? i've heard they're really good for footing. i have a pair of NB 479 crosstrainers that have withstood the tests of time, but after hearing from someone else, and now seeing you in them, i'm a little more interested.

Best ever. New Balance just sent me two pairs of the minimus cross trainers and minimus trail running shoes to review... and I wasn't impressed...both squeeze my toes too much and so do my old NB runners.

Chucks are the best for lifting that I've ever worn. Actually they are all I've lifted in for a very long time and I collect them too. Sailor Jerry's, ACDC, KISS, Metallica editions...whatever else looks interesting. I'm thinking of trying some skeletoes or vibram 5 fingers for lifting, Mrs.V. will only lift in her skeletoes or barefoot now...but I'll most likely stick with chucks. Great for sprints on pavement...not so good for distance running. Looking at things like Nike Air or Asics. I supinate pretty bad so I have to have very padded shoes with a neutral heel for running...shox are a big no no for me.

Greg, my last competition (hopefully) ends tomorrow and it's for improving my clean and jerk along with lean bulking. I'm doing another lean bulker but my entry doesn't count, it's purely motivational since I'm not eligible to win...I'm judging so it wouldn't be fair.

Ok, so I'll probably compete again but my oly lifts are primarily for my health and fitness level. I've never done anything so athletic, so demanding, so dynamic as the C&J and I think when I get the snatch right...I'll feel similar about it...I just love the oly lifts. And most of my clients are doing them too and are amazed that they are getting results to quickly compared to anything else they've ever done...or any other gym they've ever been to.

The right shoes are so hard to find. I need a new pair very badly! But can't find the time to go and get them

Are you still doing 3x3?

I recently finished 8 weeks of 5x5 and this is week #1 of 3x3 for me. I'm looking forward to it.
