Xtr3m3 12 Week 5x5 Routine

Starting a 5x5 routine to improve my strength before I begin to cut during the spring months. Here is what the basic outline looks like

Day 1 Chest / Triceps

5x5 Bench Press
5x5 Skullcrushers
2x8 Dumbell Press
2x8 Tricep Dips

Rest

Day 2 Biceps / Back

5x5 Barbell Curls
5x5 Lat Pulldowns
2x8 Concentration Curls
2x8 One Arm Rows

Rest

Day 3 Legs / Shoulders

5x5 Shoulder Press
5x5 Squates
2x8 Hamstring Curls
2x8 Side / Back Raises

Rest

Days 3 Cardio + Small Muscles

Lower Back Raises
Abs
Calves
Wrist Curls
30 Minutes Cardio

Thats the routine I think I will be working with. I don't like doing cardio on heavy lifting days, and I'm usually to worn out to do abs, lower back etc. so I do them on the main day I do cardio.

November Saturday 15

Worked pretty hard today, was a little fatigued due to staying up late the night before. Lifted with a friend from school, feels good to be alot stronger than someone who used to be stronger in every possible way. Hard work pays off!

5x5 Bench Press
5x5 Skullcrushers
2x8 Dumbell Press
2x8 Weighted Tricep Dips

The bench (as expected) was easy, and I'm looking forward to slowly increasing my weight.

If anyones interested, I am not following an EXREMELY tight diet, but obviously I eat high protein every day. Protein Bars, Whey Shakes, Eggs etc. as well as Multi-Vitamens, and Vitamen-C.

Feeling pretty sore after yesturdays Chest workout, but no matter how hard I push, I can't feel anything in my Tris. Oh well, maybe after a few weeks when the weight gets heavier. (Goin up by 2 1/2 to 5 LBS per workout) Tomorrows Bis / Back, looking forward to that

About to go to my Bicep / Back training, hope its a good one. I saw a really interesting split that I would like to try once my test with 5x5 is over. Maybe I can make a journal of my progress with that to

5x5 Barbell Curls
5x5 Lat Pulldowns
2x8 Concentration Curls
2x8 One Arm Rows

I know I gotta start light, I just always like pushing myself to the limit every time.

Decent workout, I got a new PB (Personal Best) on one arm rows, so I was kinda happy. I was really ****ed off by the antics of my brothers friends, so I am going to go on a little rant, stop reading if you want :P

ANYWHO, My brother (who, for his age of 13 is a strong, focused person) decided to bring some friends to the weight room to workout with him and myself. I don't mind working with my brother, as he is attentive, quick to correct mistakes on form, and stresses the form over weight. His friends are the complete opposite. Pimply, weak, uneducated children who made complete asses out of themselves while possibly hurting my reputation @ the gym. You see... they were really competative. And although they know nothing about lifting, they insisted on going for the heavy weights. My brother would pickup some 35s, so they, being macho young teenagers, had to do the same. They would never do reps, and half-assed tried to squeek out one little rep, with me standing above them making sure they don't kill themselves (more on that later) Anyways, I think they asked me about 15 times how much I benched. It went something like this:

Them: How much you bench?
Me: 235
Them: Ha, ya right. Lets see
Me: Sorry, I did bench on Sunday, come by on the weekend if you like, I don't bench every day
Them: Liar!!

Another thing that angered me was that they were spending alot of time on the highly desired workout modules (Namely bench press station and the preacher curl) and many, many people who wanted on slowly began to get angry. Now I know alot of these people, and they respect me for busting my ass, and I respect them right back. But being assosiated with these kids made me guilty by assosiation, and I had a couple people give me wierd looks because of my brothers friends embarrasing actions. Anyways you had to be there. The last thing, was that one of the kids insisted on benching in the Smith Machine. He also insisted to put 45's on each side, just because my brother had. So I reluctantly did, knowing full well this kid was in for a surprise on how heavy it was going to be for him (This kid is freekin 103 pounds and he thinks hes fat... um....) Anyways, once he finds out he can't do it he lets go. Yea.... He just lets go of the weight..... I luckly catch it before 90+ pounds come crashing down on his face, and I angrily ask him why he did that "Oh, your hands where under the bar, I figure you woul take it from me" was his reply, before running off to the next excersize.

Anywho, sorry about that huuuge freekin rant, it kinda just all came out

This is also a day late, and I'm about to go do Shoulders / Legs in about an hour

PEACE!!
